You can see how many reward points you have earned on your statements or online at myvisaaccount.com or myvisarewardsplus.com In order to complete the enrolment form and redeem reward points, you’ll need to have the primary cardholder’s Visa card number, expiry date and date of birth handy.

You can earn reward points when you use your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card for everyday purchases - even small purchases such as groceries, a cup of coffee or a transit pass can earn you big rewards over time. You’ll earn 1 point with every $1 purchase with your enviro Gold or Shared Interest Gold Visa card and 1 point for every $2 purchase with your enviro Classic* or Shared Interest Classic* Visa card.

Plus, when you enrol on myvisarewardsplus.com, you’ll receive 2,000 bonus reward points. You’ll also receive double reward points when you use your enviro or Shared Interest Visa to purchase travel online or by calling the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre toll-free at 1.866.661.3377.

And, as an enviroGold, enviro ExpenseGold or Shared Interest Gold Visa cardholder, you’ll receive 2,500 bonus when you make your first purchase and 3,500 bonus points each year on your account anniversary.

Yes, your reward points can be combined from two different enviro or Shared Interest Visa accounts into one account by calling a Visa Cardholder Care representative at 604.877.4999 or from outside Vancouver toll-free at 1.800.611.8472 . If you ask us to transfer reward points from one enviro or Shared Interest Visa Account to another, we will charge you a $25.00 transfer fee.

No, your reward points are no longer valid once you close your enviro or Shared Interest Visa account.

Travel Rewards

General

You can conveniently book personal or business travel online or by calling the My Visa Rewards Plus Services Centre toll-free at 1.866.661.3377 for the following travel options:

  • Holiday packages
  • Flights
  • Hotels
  • Car rental
  • BC Ferries
  • Cruises
  • Railway tickets

When using your My Visa Rewards Plus points, there are no blackout periods and you can travel at any time of the year including peak periods. Your travel arrangements are treated like any reservation that would be made using cash. That means that you’re not limited to rewards seats on airlines or to any particular airline or hotel. You can also earn double reward points when you book travel using your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card.

Credit redemption occurs when a cardholder is charged the total cost of the product directly on your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card by a third party supplier like an airline, hotel or car rental agency. You will receive a credit on your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card for the value of points you wish to redeem, which will appear on your account.

If you are not redeeming any reward points, the hotel will charge your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card and you’ll be awarded double reward points on your card.

There are three types of travel redemptions including:

  1. Free Travel – by redeeming the required number of My Rewards Plus points.
  2. Discount Travel – by using a combination of My Visa Rewards Plus points plus a charge applied to your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card.
  3. Or, you can charge the full cost of travel to your enviro or Shared Interest Visa and earn double reward points for every dollar charged to your card.

Yes, your reward points can be redeemed for all applicable travel or vacation expenses pre-booked with the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre including taxes and fees. Travel includes: air, hotel, car rentals, attractions, packages, rail, cruise and BC Ferries.

Advance booking times are dependent on a number of factors including what you book. To ensure you have a greater selection of fare and product options, we highly recommend that you book at least 14 days in advance. Depending on where you are traveling to we can usually accommodate bookings within 48 hours of your departure time. Yes, the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre can process a reservation by using a combination of your reward points plus a charge applied to your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card.

A $25 change/cancellation fee may apply if you need to change or cancel your flight. Supplier change/cancellations fees also apply. But you will not be charged any booking fee.

Travel insurance is not mandatory; however, we strongly recommend that you purchase cancellation and/or medical insurance for your trip. Please be advised that certain countries require you to provide proof of medical coverage as you enter the country such as Cuba. In addition, your Provincial coverage will not cover you outside of your own province, thus additional medical coverage is highly recommended.

A passport is the only reliable and universally accepted identification document, and it proves that you have a right to return to Canada.

Some countries do not require a passport for entry but do require photographic identification (such as a driver’s license) as well as proof of Canadian citizenship (such as a birth certificate or citizenship card). However, this varies from country to country. Each country has strict documentation requirements for nationals of all countries. It is the sole responsibility of passengers to have in their possession on departure all necessary travel documentation as required by law. We recommend that you check these requirements with the appropriate embassy or consulate of the country visited.

To enter the United States by land or water, Canadian citizens require are required to present one of the following valid documents: a passport, a NEXUS card, a Free and Secure Trade (FAST) card or an enhanced driver's licence/enhanced identification card or a Secure Certificate of Indian Status (when this certificate is available and approved by the United States).

If you are traveling by AIR, you’re required to have a valid Canadian Passport to confirm citizenship and identity. A NEXUS card is also acceptable when using a self-serve kiosk located in the pre-clearance area at designated Canadian airports. Yes. It is mandatory that parents/guardians have proper documents for their children. It is mandatory that all children have a valid Canadian passport for all trips outside of Canada, and government issued photo ID within Canada.

Flights

The name on your airline ticket must be identical to the travel document you are using to travel – e.g. Passport, Birth Certificate, Government issued photo ID (where applicable).

Airlines normally do not modify the name on a flight ticket after the ticket has been purchased. In cases where they do allow a name correction, you may be charged a fee.

My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre uses the following procedures for document delivery:

  • Paper tickets are sent via Courier at no extra fee.
  • E-tickets are delivered via email.
  • Airport or pier pick up may be required depending on time restrictions.

You should present your e-ticket in addition to the required personal ID documentation (e.g. a valid passport, birth certificate, etc.) at the specified airline’s check-in counter.

We strongly recommend that you print copies of any travel documents that are sent to you electronically, including your e-ticket. Airline representatives and/or Customs officials may (at any time) request to view your e-ticket. You may be denied boarding if you do not have your e-ticket available upon request.

Your itinerary is your personal travel schedule but this document will not grant you boarding access. Your e-ticket is the only acceptable document for boarding access.

The flights we display are determined by different factors – what most closely matches your search criteria or your requested schedule, the lowest-priced flights and/or any other search options you selected.

Another factor to keep in mind is that reservations systems are constantly changing as airlines do daily updates to their fares, rules and restrictions. These updates directly affect availability. Certain discounts may apply to a very limited number of seats. These discounted seats could also be available for only certain routes or days.

As a result, an advertised fare that you see could be outside your search parameters or already completely booked and no longer available.

Seat selection varies from airline to airline. If you would like to book a particular seat for your flight, please call the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre at 1.866.661.3377. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 am to 6 pm PST and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm PST. Please note: you may incur an additional charge for selecting a seat.

We provide you with the capability to enter in your frequent flyer number when making an airline reservation. Please note that we are only passing your frequent flyer number to the airline. We are not responsible for the issuance or redemption of miles, points or benefits of airline reward programs.

As fuel prices fluctuate and technology changes, airlines are continually updating their luggage allowance. We recommend that prior to flying, you check on your airline’s website for their current luggage allowance standards.

Should you encounter such a situation, please contact your airline as soon as possible. Almost every airline will have a lost luggage desk for passengers upon their arrival at the airport.

Complex itineraries and fares require comprehensive research, and airlines have to provide information that is not available through the website. For such inquiries, please complete the inquiry form and My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre will reply to your request or call us toll-free at 1.866.661.3377, Monday – Friday, 8 am to 6 pm PST and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm PST.

You can book a flight for an infant online by simply selecting the desired flight, and the number of infants. If an infant rate is applicable, it will be quoted for you.

Each airline has its own rules and regulations regarding unaccompanied minor travel. Most airlines consider passengers between the ages of 5 to 17 to be minors. A fee is usually charged by the airlines for this service. Upon booking an unaccompanied minor, the airline will provide mandatory forms to be completed by the parents or guardians of the minor. These forms must be completed and returned to the airline prior to departure. This information will provide the airline authorization to accept the unaccompanied minor on the flight and to release the minor to a specified adult upon arrival.

In general terms, these are the main differences between the two types of flights:

Charter:

  • Airlines charter their planes to tour operators and/or suppliers
  • Charter airlines cannot accept reservations directly from a consumer
  • Flights tend to leave on specified days of the week
  • More restrictive fares/rules/ itineraries
  • Prices fluctuate based on demand

 

Scheduled:

  • Independently operated airlines that sell direct to the consumer
  • Daily flights and usually more than one flight a day depending on destination
  • More flexible with fares/rules/itineraries

Hotels

Please note: changes or cancellations may be subject to penalties as per the travel suppliers terms and conditions. At the time of booking, supplier conditions and restrictions will be outlined to you, as well as printed on your invoice.

Room/bedding type is not guaranteed and is on request basis only. Please check with the hotel directly prior to your departure.

If you can’t find room availability at the hotel you wish to book on our website, please call the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre toll-free at 1.866.661.3377and we may be able to book over the phone for you.

When you make a hotel reservation through the My Visa Rewards Plus website, we follow a ‘credit redemption’ process.

Car Rentals

If you need to change or cancel your car rental reservation, please call the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre toll-free at 1.866.661.3377. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 am to 6 pm PST and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm PST. Please note: changes or cancellations may be subject to fee penalties as per the travel suppliers’ terms and conditions. Please contact the supplier directly if you need to make changes after our hours of operation or during holidays.

All prices are quoted, as per supplier; some include taxes and unlimited kilometers. Please refer to your reservation confirmation for complete details. Local taxes, if not included will be additional, along with insurance, extra driver fees or drop charges in event of one way rentals. Drop fees vary, and can range between $300-$600 CAD. Please refer to age restrictions of the car rental company. When renting vehicles in Europe, international driver’s license may be required. In case of rental in Eastern Bloc countries, cars may be restricted to regions, and may not be removed or taken to certain “restricted” countries or regions.

Cruises and Rail Tickets

For cruises and travel by rail, please call the My Visa Rewards Plus Services Centre toll-free at 1.866.661.3377. We are ready to serve you Monday to Friday, 8 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 4 pm PST. You can redeem 100 points per $1 for applicable travel/vacation expenses.

Vacation Packages

If you need to change or cancel your package reservation, please call the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre toll-free at 1.866.661.3377. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 am to 6 pm PST and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm PST. Please note: changes or cancellations may be subject to penalties as per the travel suppliers terms and conditions.

After accepting any travel arrangement offered, the sale is final and is subject to the terms and conditions of the travel supplier. If the price decreases, we are unable to refund the difference due to standard travel industry practice. If the price increases after you book, you will not be expected to pay the difference. Rates can be reduced by travel suppliers at any time without advance notification to the travel industry. These prices apply to ‘New Bookings’ only.

Merchandise Rewards

Simply browse the online reward catalogue and redeem for the reward(s) you desire o Here are the steps:

  • VIEW YOUR SHOPPING CART. Before submitting an order, please confirm the address displayed is where you want your order shipped; double-check your reward point redemption amount, as well as the product code(s) for accuracy.
  • CHECK OUT. Once you have selected all the desired items in your shopping cart, proceed to check out. Before submitting your order, ensure all mandatory fields are completed.
  • VIEW YOUR ORDER STATUS. Please reference the ‘My Order History’ tab and allow 48 hours after placing your order before making any initial inquiries.
  • AVAILABILITY. We do our best to make all items shown available to you. Manufacturers change models, specifications, patterns, and pricing from time to time, and on occasion, it may be necessary to substitute items. We reserve the right to change the corresponding reward points to reflect these changes. If a suitable substitute cannot be found we will advise you that a new selection is necessary. Manufacturers have the right to change, discontinue models, or change their prices at any time and without prior notice.
  • RECEIVING THE GOODS. Please allow 3 to 6 weeks for receipt of your order. Remember to order early for holidays and special occasions. Multiple item orders may not always be shipped in the same order. My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre is not liable for delays or price changes caused by situations beyond their control.
  • DAMAGED OR MISSING SHIPMENTS. When your package arrives, check the contents immediately. Do not sign for your package if there is any damage and refuse the shipment. Sign only for the number of cartons and items received in good condition. If you accepted your package and you find that merchandise is damaged or missing parts, contact us toll-free at 1.866.661.3377. Returns must be within 15 days of receipt and in re-sellable condition, which means unused and in their original packaging.
  • POINTS TOP UP. The program allows you to redeem My Visa Rewards Plus points in combination with paying an additional amount, based on the following specified requirements. If there is an item you want which requires more reward points than you currently have available, you can top-up with up to 50% of the value of the item. For example, if there is an item you wish to redeem that has a value of 1,000 points, you will need to have at least 500 points to redeem and the difference can be purchased with your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card. If you need to return an item purchased with a Points Top Up, we will credit the points back to your account and refund the amount of reward points purchased on your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card used. Please note that the Points Top Up option is not offered on gift cards.

Please allow 3 to 6 weeks from your order date for merchandise and gift card delivery. Deliveries cannot be made to a Post Office Box, rural routes or to addresses outside of Canada. Merchandise and Gift Cards will be sent by prepaid delivery services during normal business hours. My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre is not liable for delays or price changes caused by situations beyond their control.

If there is an item you want which requires more reward points than you currently have available; you can top-up your points up to 50% of the value of the item. For example, if there is an item you wish to redeem that has a value of 1,000 reward points, you will need to have at least 500 points to redeem. The difference in points may then be purchased with your enviro or Shared Interest Visa Card. In the event that you need to return an item that required a Cash Add, we will return the points to your account and refund the amount of points purchased on the credit card used. Gift cards are not eligible for points top up.

When your package arrives, check the contents immediately. Do not sign for your package if there is any damage and refuse the shipment. Sign only for the number of cartons and items received in good condition. Most items are covered by manufacturer's warranty. For service information, please check the warranty card included with your item(s). Returns are sometimes possible; however, no returns will be accepted without prior authorization. Please call the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre toll-free at 1.866.661.3377.

An order can only be cancelled prior to being shipped. If you wish to cancel your order, please contact the My Visa Rewards Plus Service Centre toll-free at 1.866.661.3377. If the order hasn’t yet been shipped, we can cancel the order and credit your reward points back onto your enviro or Shared Interest Visa card.

Charitable Donations

With just 2,000 My Visa Rewards Plus points you can donate to any Registered Canadian Charity. The donation is made through the Vancity Community Foundation, who will issue you a tax receipt. You can redeem your reward points conveniently online by filling out the donation form.
